Group Keeper

A while back, Lendolin of CEA served as alliance groupkeeper. The idea was he'd take requests from people who were LFG, and put together a group for everyone. For example, a lot of Lynn Barfog groups and pygmy groups got formed that way.

There was some discussion on the alliance forums about starting this up again. I'd also like to implement something like this for Vengeance. Here's how it'd work:

1. Come to a consensus for who's Vengeance GK on a given night/at a given time. Obviously it has to be someone who's playing that night.

2. Speak to officers/GMs from other alliance guilds and tell them you're putting groups together. Have them advertise your name as the GK in their guildchat.

3. Keep a list of partial groups, segmented by level and location. An LB list, a pygmy list, a barrows list, a Mithra list.

4. Make introductions and hand people off quickly. Your job is to facilitate communication, not do all the work required for assembling a solid group.

5. Once groups are fielded, you'll get singles lfg, example: "Hey, i'm a 46 pal, any active groups?" Answer: "Yes, there's a trees group headed by Englebertius and a lynn barfog group headed by Axecleaver"

It's probably a lot of work, but it's great for crafters or anyone willing to put up with all the traffic.

The alliance groupkeeper idea helped me quite quickly move from about levels 23-33 before the idea slowly drifted away.  It's a great plan.  I can coordinate it maybe once a week or so.

I could help too, especially now that I am working a lot on crafting.

Alright, let's make it happen.

Bump

We seem to have forgotten about this.  Any input from other alliance guilds?

Everyone thinks it's a good idea, but just nobody has done it. Make sure I'm around when we start it, so I can handle any complaints. Some folks might not be up to speed on it and may complain about /as abuse. Just want to be around to make sure that's handled.
