yep, that is still one of my all-time favorite DAoC moments.  Lots of heart-pounding fun!  I wish I would have had my new PC then, though.  At least it motivated me to get one.  My vid card was just choking to death in RvR.  I had to do either look at the sky or the ground to even keep up when on autofollow.

yeah, someone needs to recount that awesome small fight we had ongoing at Renaris while the alb zerg got lost on the way to relieve us from Sauvage... because it was raining, lol.

In all seriousness, that may have been one of the most fun fights in which I was involved in DAoC.  Not many people (less than a full group on either side, I believe), tons of combat rezzing, pretty much no realm abilities left, and possibly the longest single fight I ever saw (outside of two pallies dueling, let's be realistic).

I remember that too ross. I think we (the alliance) were setting up a relic raid defense at sauvage. It was taking too long so our group decided to go on ahead and check on rens while we were waiting. We got there and mids were still on the first door.

We told the raid leaders that we needed help as soon as possible. They said they'd be there shortly. We held the mids off for awhile outside the keep, but they eventually got the doors down. We set up in the courtyard and managed to kill every mid except for a single healer and a tank.

The healer had time to sit there and med, then rez every single one of his realmmates, get everyone buffed and then they promptly took the keep. From the time we got the warning out that rens was being attacked to the time the keep actually fell, it had been at least 20 minutes. Then someone (i think it was axe) yelled in the CG, "WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?!" and we were informed that the raid group was lost somewhere in forest sauvage.

That was just one of the many low points in alb history. There's plenty of others, like the repeated pwnings of the 30-man alb zerg by a single group of hibs or mids. Or the time 50 albs got repeatedly killed by the same 6 hibs camping a tower in forest sauvage. Or the many failed Luvly-lead relic raids that all collapsed before even a single keep could be taken.

i think i remember that one as well. was that the one that caused axe to (understandably) take a break for a bit? ...there are a lot of memories of albs getting wiped by half their numbers without killing a single enimy, ect... why, oh why, did we chose albion? lol.  RvR is a totally different story as a mid it seems.

but there were a lot of good times. I remembered when i read about how PBAE's agro worked...i respecced my wiz to ice with a free respec from a patch. the first time we did a pbae group (in the zone with the dragon... forget its name) was fun. i think i was one of the first ice wizzies on the server (though i wasnt one of the first 50's)...then PBAE got really popular.
