I sure hope my webpage info is accurate.  I just checked the CEA forums and it says Axecleaver turned 35 today.

I just wanted to say hello to Vengeance and wish you all the best in whatever adventures you are finding right now.  Our guild, Consilio et Armis, has been moving around every so often checking various games.  Been a long and interesting road.  EQ to DAOC to Shadowbane to Star Wars back to EQ1 to EQ2 and now back to DAOC on Midgard Merlin.  We are eagerly awaiting the release of Vanguard and beta testing a few games as well.  An interesting time in the development of MMO's.

Stay safe and take care all of you.  Happy Birthday Axe.  I enjoy reading the occasional Axelet stories, very funny!

Caohmin

Hey Araman, thanks for stopping by.

Axe is 35! Wow, that's getting up there.

Amberryl

wow, blast from the past araman-

speaking of, I gotta find a guild with less old geizers. I wonder what VU is up to... Happy birthday axe. Aquarius represent, homie-G!

Thanks -- we've done some bouncing around too, have some folks in DAOC somewhere and in Wow on Blackhand. I think Tydd is playing EQ 2 still (I tried it, didn't really like it). Vanguard looks very EQ-ish and no pvp.

So when did Axe get a zillion red dots under his name.  hehe. thought 5 was the max.

Caohmin

And Lord Zaius said: "Let there be dots." And he looked upon the dots and saw that it was good.

Then he said, 'omg wtf lol!!1.'

unclean meat in the mouth ftw!

Yes, Vanguard is very EQish, one of the reasons we are excited!

Granted, no PVP, but not many other options out there for quality gaming atm.  All I see coming out is cheap MMOs' geared to gain the quick buck.  Too much instancing, too much instant gratification, too many damn bugs, not much world building anymore in these games.

We are currently playing DAOC, but DAOC has seen it's sunset.  I think Warhammer Online will be the next quality PVP game, but that won't be until probably 2007 or 2008.  That is a long time away.

So our talk right now is to try out Vanguard and patiently await the release of Warhammer Online, which Mythic has the contract for.  My gut feeling is that DAOC will lose at least 50% subscriptions if not more with the release of Warhammer Online.  I think a lot of folks see that more as a DAOC 2 version.  I haven't seen any design documents or data posted yet from Mythic suggesting they have anything down, just a generic FAQ page with little to no info.  I hope to find out more.

Axecleaver

What happened to their Romans-in-space game?

Amberryl

it was 'postponed' - meaning that it's probably never happening unless Mythic goes big with Warhammer and expands.

I used to play Warhammer when I was a kid. We should be Wood Elves, Lizardmen, or Dwarfs
