RvR Night tonight

Based on reactions on the boards, I'm going to be purchasing the Faith Healing realm point skill and giving big Axe one more try tonight.

I encourage you all, regardless of level, to come RvR with me tonight. I will be on the pad at 8pm EST whether you people are coming or not.

Sometimes I wish I lived on the east coast so I could make it at those times however I will get online as soon as I can which will be around 8:30-9:00 est. which is 5:30-6:00 my time.

i live on the east coast (go boston!) but the rest of my family wants to use the good computer around those times....and being the youngest i get last dibbs...so ive rarely been able to get to guild events. hehe, but ill keep tryin to make it

That was easily the best guild RvR event ever.

Emain started with some nice old fashioned Albernia mid stomping... in between we got some RPs from Doec's 3-0 duels with the hibs. Wiped the mids at least four or five times. Felt good to win, even if we needed hib's help to do it. I think I'm starting to like the little bastards.

As we win, more people come out. It's always the case- fair weather friends and all that. Albernia grows. We discuss taking a mid keep, though we're a little underpowered... I think we had 10 vengeance plus Wildturkey and Champagne with us. We decide to bloodgate on the next wave of mids and head to Odin's.

We die gracefully (all part of the plan, yep, mm hm) and head to Odin's. I lead the troops through a circuit of Odin's and head back to the Albion portal keep to pick up redblade.

I open the doors and there's 30 albs waiting. All of a sudden, vengeance is leading our main army on a balls-out assault on bledmeer. And I was looking forward to a quiet night with the guild.

Darith drives... because I hate to drive big forces while dealing with all the tells and such... and who do we run across but New Raey. Damn, discovered! We dash to bled, pull guards, post a rear guard, and get some rams going. One on the outer door, two on the inner.

The keep take went as smoothly as one has ever gone. The lord, as Sodom put it, folded like a cheap suit. He was down in under 10 seconds. We assembled our people and Vengeance claimed the keep.

We set about our defense. The siege merchants took forever to pop. Doors went to level 4 without merchants, and we waited. The call of "Incoming!" and "siege merchant pop" came at precisely the same time. Uncanny. We didn't have an ironwood merchant, so i had to make one of those teeny little catapults. But I got it up and running for 5 shots, pounding hell out of the front doors. Whee!

Then my inventory got bugged, and I couldn't move rocks into the catapult. There were two running. I relogged and now everything was out of range of the catapult. Oh well... door was coming down anyway. We all ran up to the lord to make a stand.

The lord stand was fantastic. About 900 RPs, 10 and 20 at a time. This, no doubt, was due in large part to Darith and Zaius' spells on the oncoming hordes. I crawled into a corner and twisted 46pt heals. During one exceptionally fiesty AoEfest we were all getting hurt, Zaius was at around 10% health, and I popped off my group insta. Whee! Group instas rock.

We kept it going for a while, but eventually they all came up the stairs. Lots of mezzed folks. But there was enough albs that the mezz wore off, and we duked it out in style. I killed 3 wounded mids, yellow, orange, orange cons. Lag made it tough for everyone. Eventually it came my turn to die and a half dozen put me down. I was one of the last to go... nice safe corner, remember? ... and got to watch the show.

As the last alb fell, a huge guard pop. The mids looked pretty shaky, but in the end, more came up the stairs and managed to retake the keep. It was a hell of a fight and everyone performed magnificently.

You know I'm going to totally biotch at my wife for making me get off the PC last night (I logged after the wiping of Mids but before the keep raid).  

I agree that this was easily one of the most entertaining guild events I've attended, and probably (with the possible exception of a relic raid) the best I've felt after a session of RvR.

Now I just have to level a little more to get rid of a bunch of those red cons...

p.s.  did I mention I won my first ever duel?  WOOT!!!  Yellow con dual-wielding firbolg.  The bastage was hitting me about every 1/2 second, but he soon felt the business end of my pole.  Did that sound bad?  :-)

In talking with the mids today on IRC, they were saying "My god, you guys were so organized." I was like, uh... no. We were a seething zerg mass.

They said "You kept sending bait groups to our PK, we'd mow em down and then charge to u2 (m2) and 100 albernians would destroy us." I said, "that wasn't bait, that was the idiots we couldn't control who kept asking us for rezzes!

It was pretty amusing. The mids wiped out Albernia after the bulk of our force came to support Vengeance at Bledmeer. We burnt 550 Guild Bounty Points on the defense but it was well, well worth it. Hell of a show.

Yeah I have to say that was a lot of fun dancing with the hibs and all. Makes targetting hard since you can't use F8 and have to not use AOE spells as much but still it was a lot of fun , will have to do it again !
