Tanglers are probably best until 43 or even 44, possibly. The purple trees are giving me 38m xp, the little ones about 25m.

Yeah, witherwoodes. 42 is probably the low end of the best time to start, but like Kids says, we can take a low level member in without too much trouble.

I've been grouping with some nonguild the last couple of days... god help me... and i find nobody but me and tydd use engage. I'm constantly teaching people how to do this. You can engage a target on your guard person as well as on yourself. Works great.

The biggest problem is that people see you engaging a monster and immediately want to help you by hitting it... thus negating the engage. Takes much training.

Yes it takes a little training to get it beat into their heads what you are doing and to leave it alone.   But just like when I was a we tike and had to learn what the sparkly things over the mobs head ment they too will learn.

Unfortunatly,  My engage didn't work to well last night against Giaco.   I think I figured out I wasn't going to win Solo and go Engage till someone could help me to late.  Kept telling me he could not be engaged because he's been attacked.   That was frustrating.

Yes, it is... sometimes it seems to take FOREVER for that "under attack" status to wear off. Also if a caster is debuffing or rooting or anything, it counts as under attack.

hmm, i wonder if guard and engage would be a good role for me in some of the higher level groups ive been in (i.e. mostly guild groups that have been nice enough to let me tag along). sounds like it would be good for me cuz against very high level mobs my miss rate with the bow is crazy (to the point sometimes that its not even worth burning through the arrows) and i stab like a little girl anyways...but my shield spec is good and with my high dex i block like theres no tomarrow, then add the engage and very little shold get through.

then again, if i cant hit with my bow, im probably fighting mobs that are too hard for me anyway

That's a very good idea, LB. When Noreen is guarding me she blocks around half the shots on me... sometimes more if we have good dex buffs. We will have to give this a try.
