Class action lawsuit against ATI:

http://www.aticlassaction.com/index.html

"You are a class member if, while residing in the United States, you purchased for your own personal use and not for resale an ATI graphics card (that means a card built by or for ATI, not by or for another company such as Asus, Diamond, Gigabyte, Palit, Sapphire, or VisionTek) from one of the following series: Radeon® 9550; Radeon® 9800; Radeon® x700; Radeon® x800; Radeon® x850; Radeon® x1300; Radeon® x1600; Radeon® x1800; Radeon® x1900; All-in-Wonder® 9800; All-in-Wonder® 2006; All-in-Wonder® x600; All-in-Wonder® x800; All-in-Wonder® x1800; All-in-Wonder® x1900; or any FireGL® or FireMV® series of graphics cards. You must have made your purchase during the period from January 1, 2003 to March 31, 2006."

Depending on how many people file a claim you could be eligible for a video card or a share of the 3 million dollar cash settlement. I did replace my video card on my old computer in that time period but I'll have to dig around and see if I qualify.

There's an online claim form at the the site linked.

Looks like this is about the inclusion of HDCP content protection features. Pretty sure I bought a 9800 pro during this time but damned if I could dig up a proof of purchase. Nice post Cao.

damn! i actually still had the box for my 9800 pro (i think the receipt was inside) but i threw it away when i moved about a month ago.

Did they ever fix that casting lag problem?

Caohmin

No idea to be honest. Haven't been keeping up with the game at all.

I've been checking out LOTRO lately which has been suprisingly fun.

I tried it briefly during the open beta and decided it wasn't really my deal. But I got an email recently with a $10 deal to try it out for a month... might do it. What server you on?

Axecleaver

Went ahead and bought the online version for $10 with a free month.

I picked Brandywine because it has the most population.

Got a few characters I'm checking out, but I've been playing a warden mostly - Brohna - and got to level 21 the other day. I'll look for you, I'm getting on right now.

Cool, I can restart over there. I made a lore master on some other server and got him to 10 yesterday, looks like a supporty kind of class with a little crowd control. Forums say they're hard to play well, that sounds promising.

There's an awful lot of those Xbox-style "accomplishments" built in, like "cast this 2 minute cooldown spell 1000 times." They have buffs associated with them but I can't tell if those are really necessary to work toward or if they're just a distraction. I've been picking one and sort of obsessively casting it whenever I'm walking between quests.

Lore master is dps or healing but not both at the same time with a little cc thrown in there. If you go with an LM I have a low level guardian (tank) that I can play. I've read on the forums that they make a great duo.

The buffs from the achievements are helpful. When you find a bard in a town you can activate or re-arrange them. You get achievement, racial, class and legendary buffs. Some you get from using a spell or skill over and over again and others from getting to a certain level.

As far as working towards them, that I never do. I just play the game. In the early levels they don't seem to make a huge difference, but I've heard in the higher levels they are necessary and that you can change your build to suit a certain situation (dps, healing, tanking, etc.)

My dwarf guardian's name is Caohmen and I'll try to be on around 8ish eastern time.
