OT: Anyone live near Boston/Providence?

Hey, just curious if anyone lives in the Boston/Providence area as I'll be there all next week for training (in Milford, to be specific).  Even if getting together for a cold beverage isn't your thing, I would appreciate any info on fun stuff going on in the area.  There are three of us coming out there, and none have been to the area before, so any advice would be helpful.

amber and i live a little south of boston, but im no tour guide unless you want to go to a couple of the local punk shows, lol. and as much as id like gettin together for a cold one, it would be slightly elegal for me to do so, not bein of age and all, hehe.

but seriously, boston can be a pretty cool city...cambridge, harvard square (im there every weekend being the no-good squatter type kid i am, hehe), and such. not really sure what "old folk" are into though, so im not much of a help, sorry

OK, seriously...I've been to Newport RI before, don't know how close you'll be to that...there's this one drive that has all the mansions where all the old-time rich folks (Vanderbilts, etc) used to live...very F. Scott Fitzgerald-ish.  Lobster lobster everywhere.  And the area near the harbor there has tons of restaurants and clubs.

Speaking of...I've been considering some kind of Vengeance get-together.  Me, Axe, and Duran live reasonably close, don't know about anyone else.  Maybe if I get un-lazy I'll start another thread.

My folks were in Newport for a week last month.  They won a week's stay in what was described to them as a mansion, but they were skeptical.  It turned out to be some massive place right on the water called "The Waves" or something because of the funky style roof it has.  Anyway, they were pretty impressed and enjoyed themselves.  I'm not sure if we'll be able to get to Newport or not, but I think we plan on checking out Harvard, bumming around downtown somewhere, and probably eating/drinking alot.  I was hoping to score some Red Sox tickets just so I can say I went to Fenway, but it's not looking too good.  Besides, the other two guys going aren't really into baseball all that much.  

Thanks for the info, though.  Hey LB, wear a big sign that says "I'm a DAoC Junkie" next week while you're squatting, and maybe I'll find you and knock you over or something.

Who has to be into baseball to go to a game?  You sit, you drink beer.  How hard is that?  It's like your back deck, if your back deck is legendary.

btw, if your into drinking, boston is your place...being full of irish people and all (just be carefull and get your beer on saturday, for some stupid reason you cant buy it on sunday, hehe). also, the north end has some great italian food, and you can find good seafood just about anywhere

We could easily have a DaoC picnic at Axe's house. I live in Northern Virginia. Zaius, Sodom, and Mylar live near me, too.

I have a nice back deck with a grill and enough room for... let's see... like 5 or 6 people to crash, if necessary.

hehehe, thanks for the advice, LB.  I'll be the fool who's actually trying to drive a car in town (at least once, I'm a glutton for punishment).  One of the other guys going says he wants to get tickets for Lenny Kravitz (I guess he's in town on Saturday night), but we'll see what happens.

Picnic at axes? woot id come down from montreal fo that lol.. friad im too young to drink in the states tho only 1 year left for that
