I have on many occasions been mistaken for a small cat like creature from Thundercats but that was never the origon of the name Snarf which I have always used for both D&D and various computer games. Long ago I stumbled accross a comic strip in Dragon magazine called Snarfquest, the central character was of course Snarf whom ill leave to the link im posting to describe. He was both odd looking but kind of cool, brave but scared, generous but greedy :) he wasnt often modest but he came accross as a bit of a goof on occasion. I liked him and found the comic strip captivating, and i have finally found a web site which has the first 25 episodes on it. Its prior to his meeting Telari, yes he had a gorgeous skimpily clad girlfriend :P (another thing i liked about him) but he doesnt meet her for a bit yet. Anyway i thought i would post the link for all those who had never heard of Snarfquest and imagine me as some small cat creature out of Thundercats.

Snarf was also the name of the mythical creature that the older scouts and dads would make the youngin's hunt in the middle of the night. It was used as a cheap laugh and to ensure the patriarchal dominance of the older scouts.

I'd give it a 6.0 out of 10 for ingenuity.

Yep, I have some old Dragon Magazine issues with Snarf in em.  Of course, I am an old man, so I understand many things...

Ah, old Dragon Magazine. What's New with Phil and Dixie was pretty cool.
