Why do you play DAoC?

While roaming the boards today, I came across a thread devoted to debating the BG/Endgame RvR situation.  Basically, some people like to just play the BGs, while others think everyone should level to 50 and do real RvR.

Myself, I'm finding I really enjoy getting a chracter to 19 or 24 and playing in the BG.  Its fun to go out and RvR in Emain when I have a nice group and lots  of albs out to back me up, but its awfully repetitive.  The fact that I'm fighting, so I can get more RP, so I can fight better, so I can get more RP... well, its kinda lame dont ya think?

When I came back to DAoC/SI after my break, I came back with the express purpose of seeing the new areas, trying out the other realms, and just generally experiencing something new.

So what's your reason for playing?  Do you enjoy high level RvR? Do you enjoy owning the PvE? Or maybe some other reason?  What makes you want to log in every night?

Or are you just an addict?

Grouping with guildies whether it's for PvE, BGs or real RvR. DAoC is fun, no doubt about it, but hanging out with friends is the game for me. If it wasn't this game it would be another.

That and phat lewt.

I agree.  for me, this game is as much about the social interaction as it is the actual game part.

umm, that made sense when I thought it, but now that I read it I feel like my parents might be close relatives.  I'm sure you know what I mean, though.

I changed my mind. The reason I play is so I can say 'Ross=teh suk' on these boards.

And everyone stop copying me.

I'm hoping Z agrees w/ Caoh's first post on this thread.
