Zaius and I always threatened to pull the "thermite/the engine block" gag on a buddy-of-ours' brother. The brother owned a an old junker that he registered as a "classic" car to avoid it being towed away by the county. We always got pissed that it was parked in a prime spot in front of our buddy's house. I think we went as far as stealing the magnesium filiment (usually used to ignite thermite) from our school chemistry lab. I think we scrubbed the plan when we learned what a pain in the ass it was to obtain "pure" iron oxide in the quantities necessary.

i once saw a pretty cool video of a bunch of guys hacking Ps2's and Xbox's to make them customizeable.. in one clip they showed a segment on how to destroy your hard drive ASAP if you have the Cops or the FBI knocking on your door (like it would ever happen).. Basically this guy had filled on of the mod bays of his laptop with solid Thermite and shot a video of him igniting it to fry his hard drive.. Pretty stupid but really funny stuff.. lemme see if i can find the clip...
