Vengeance

Heya Vengeance,

Not sure many of you even remember me.  My toon was Araman Warbringer back from the old DAOC Iseult days.  I am the guild leader of Consilio et Armis.  Anyways, back in the day, I really liked partnering up with Vengeance and always admired the guild.

So I was checking my webpage today, and I saw our birthday flash listed today as Axecleaver's birthday.  I thought I would swing by and say hello.

Last year Consilio et Armis moved to WoW. Great game and we have really enjoyed the run so far.  We have a few folks testing out Vanguard, Warhammer Online (When it is ready), and Age of Conan.  Will be interesting to see how those games flourish.

So how has Vengeance been and where are you guys now?  It would be great to run across you in the next game.

Of course I remember you. Glad to hear Consilio is still alive and well. A lot of us tried Wow out on Blackhand/horde when it launched, and maybe half stayed. As you know, it's a very gear/raid centric game with a pvp game that leaves a lot to be desired, so some of us never got into it. We have been playing more since BC launched and enjoying the shorter, more casual instances.

We still have some folks playing on Iseult, and I recently renewed and play probably one night a week on average. It's a very different game than we played five years ago, but there is still fun to be had.

lol Caoh... Axe, as it turns out I had a few beers in your honor tonight.  They weren't that great, but they helped dull the pain of my suddenly remedial poker skillz.  Happy Birthday!

Consilio et Armis is on the Rexxar server.  

We have enjoyed the raid centric/PVP activities immensely. I agree that compared to Dark Ages it leaves a lot to be answered in terms of PVP.  I think a lot of our folks have enjoyed the more casual feel of WoW (even though we all play a ton).  We are one of the few home grown raiding guilds on our server that was into Tier 2 raiding content prior to the expansion.  Most of the other guilds hitting that came from other servers when Rexxar was first formed due to population overcrowding on other servers in March of 2006.  We pretty much built the guild from our core folks from level 1 to where we are now.  99% of our recruits came from friensd/family of guildmates, and we are currently at 75.  It has been pretty darn fun really.

So what games are you all looking too down the road? Warhammer Online? Age of Conan? Vanguard?

I'm personally interested in seeing how Mythic interprets the whole Warhammer thing, that one could be pretty good if they take their PvP successes and integrate some PvE things that other people have done better.  I was involved in the Vanguard beta a little bit, but I just never really felt like it was the game for me.  Maybe it got much better at more advanced levels, but it didn't really hold my interest enough to justify spending more of my limited gaming time on it.  There were certainly some advertised features that really appealed to me, but I never really saw them in the game.

As far as Conan goes, I've always been a huge fan of that universe, so I'll probably check that out if it looks at all like it's even remotely playable.

i'll be paying a lot less for that game than i did on all those little miniatures back in the day- do we get to paint our own char?

Warhammer is my goal also; hopefully it'll release on time.

I think most of us are just killing time until Warhammer comes out.
