Looks like minstrels are the beneficiaries of clerics having a nice long 5 minute timer on their PBAoE mez.  Minstrels get a new line with a 1/2 duration single-target mez, and the old compelling cadence one is now AoE.

:)

Minstrel love...YEAH!  O-E-O-E-O!  I think I wanna mez ya!

I almost hope they nerf clerics again.

Standard spec for minstrels was instruments to 44.  However, the new line has a mez at 45...will need to see the time difference before I decide to pop more points in there.

Oh no!  It appears the Mids fear that Albs will have speed and AOE mez in RvR groups now!  How horribly unfair!

One class can't have both stealth and AOE mez!  That would be as ridiculous as a class having an instant AOE mez, an instant AOE stun, and an instant heal!

Since the healers are whining, I don't expect this to ever go live.

yeah, that would be as ridiculous as only needing to have one player in your group to cover healing and CC.  Before, if we wanted healing, the best AoE CC, and speed, that was three players.  Now it's two like everyone else.

I'm holding my breath. I think there's a chance this one could make it.

I didn't think it would...but as someone pointed out, we didn't think See Hidden would make it either...yet there it is.  Also, Albion is the only realm without an armored AOE mezzer right now.  What, they were going to give it to paladins?  :)

But as Noules pointed out in one of his posts...tell me the point of sorcerors now?  Those DOT's and debuffs had better be smoking.  Englebert wants to go full body spec now.

1.51I notes

<< Reverted the Commanding Cadence line to be single target, since the radius effect on a "cast-on-the-run" spell is more powerful than originally intended, and added a radius on the new Comforting Lullaby spell line. The radius on this line is smaller than the Sorcerer AE mesmerize spells, since Comforting Lullaby is a secondary crowd control line.>>

More powerful than originally intended?  Have they NEVER run into a healer/skald duo?  And aren't bards getting an insta-mez next patch...does it not work when they aren't moving?  Must not, AOE mez on the fly is too powerful.  I don't even care if minstrels are the class to get it, but somebody's gotta get something to counter bards and healers.

pretty sure the insta-mez bards will have is single target. However, i think they may get another aoe one at higher levels.  Lets face it, skalds and healers are a bit overpowered, just like a smite cleric used to be.  I think they should up the skald/mins/bard dmg output and get rid of some of those instas, or maybe give them more defense...anything that doesnt give them an ability that wins the war in almost every single battle!

just my opinions though.

Last thing they need to give skalds is more dmg output.

At any rate, then, this leaves Midgard as the lone realm that can cast a targetted AOE mez while at speed, even if it does take a two-class combo to do it.  Tell me who Mythic loves.
