hey guys,
I cancelled my account last night. I saw where the game is heading, and its not pretty.
It takes the zerg to win, and even then, insta mez/stun will waste your zerg to nothing. I'm first to die in just about every single RVR encounter we go on, no one can save me from the Assassins. The PvE game is boring, broken, and my spells are depleted with every patch..4 dots should kill a warrior. but not if he can ignore pain, fa2, purge, and snare me. I stand no chance.
basically, i'll be leaving now until mythic finds a way to address my key concerns with the game. They may not ever. I have hope though, because some days I do have fun. I sent a LONG letter of feedback, but I doubt I'll see a response.
It was fun all, and thank you for all your help. I'm still a part of the guild, and will keep checking the boards. Maybe I'll come back after Shrouded Isles..who knows.
Later

Sorry that things didn't work out for ya and hope future patches will make improvements for ya. However I am glad that you will stay in touch via this board.
Sorry Malison --
Seemed like you weren't having much fun the last few times we went Rvring. Take a break and see how SI looks to you.
It really sucks what Mythic did dude, i hope they fix it. I hope to see you back some day but until than goodluck dude.
really sorry to see you go mal :( the times we grouped up were fun. hopefully mythic will shape up and stop F'ing albion, classes, ect cuz as of now im not having too much fun eather (even though i mostly enjoy my class, the PvE is getting too boring, zerging isnt fun, blah blah blah)...anyways, sorry to see you go, and i hope you eventually deside to come back.
p.s. if you play any other games keep us posted!
Time for me to move on too! Adios and farewell! I have throughly enjoyed the friendships here and they have kept me hanging in there but I know when it is time to leave and that time has arrived for me. I sincerely hope that the paths before all of you is paved with gold, lined with rosed and showered with blessings of abundance!!
Sigh :(
I hate to see both of you guys leaving us. I hope you both enjoy whatever you choose to do in the future. Keep in touch on these boards of you can. you will be missed.
I can understand where your coming from, my experience has been that survival and RvR even prior to this patch was much easier as a 45 armsmen than as a 50 wizard where i am almost without exception the first of second person to die even if we win. RvR quickly looses what ever appeal it might have when you are singled out and killed in ever encounter and a victim for every stealther be they archer or infiltrator on the opposition side. Having no effective counter is kind of disconcerting too, I met a 50 enchanter last week who could stun me quicker than i could cast anything, then debuff my resists and nuke me twice and kill me 100% of the time every time. That sucked big time and there was nothing i could do to prevent it. Having it happen from stealthers continuoulsy was bad enough but that reached a new level in frustration.
Oh man, i hate to see you guys both go. I hope you all move on to greener ( spell that right?) pastures. One day maybe Mythic will realize how much RvR sucks and fix it. We should do something big to make them fix it sometime.
really sad to see you go too reinn :(
again, hope you keep in touch
WTf?! :(
man, i didnt realize that this patch is hitting ppl so hard.. Pallies got a bit of a boost.. bah, im really sad to see the two of you go :(
yeah guys, keep in touch, dont wanna lose track of old friends
you can always count on me to show up while I'm at work. What else would I be doing? :)
anyways, I have a lot of games that I needed to get around to finishing/playing...Warcraft 3, Heroes of Might and Magic 3, Might and Magic 9, Morrowind, Animal Crossing, Legend of Mana, Armored Core 2. So as you see, I won't be for a lack of things to do without DAoC, just a lack of online interaction.
I'm still watching the boards cloesely, and get horrible pangs to go buy E&B every day. I just have to focus.

:(
bummer to hear that from you folks. Hopefully we'll meet up in another game in the future.
Good luck!
Morrowind is beautiful... same engine as SI. The water effects are from a Morrowind mod to the engine.
Then add in the loving attention to detail the designers put into the game... all the little details, the hundreds of books, the quests. Truly a classic that people will play ten years from now the way ppl play old Ultimas today. I haven't gotten very far what with my DaoC time, but it's a fantastic game.
Animal Crossing? Legend of Mana? Are these obscure Czechoslovakian hits I'm unaware of?
I might give Morrowind a try...I always liked the exploratory type games...
Heh Axe, Animal Crossing and Legend Of Mana are Gamecube and PlayStation games, respectively. They are my roommates, but they are actually quite fun.
Morrowind, from what I played of it, was fairly interesting, and has a lot of potential, but I got bored of getting my level/skill up by casting a 1 MP spell 1000 times over!
If you play Morrowind don't spoil yourself by reading fan sites/message boards. It's easy to make a powerful character very early in the game, just by playing it (no cheats or mods).
It's a beautiful game. The first time I saw pixel-shaded water effects, I just sat there and stared at it in awe. It's completely open-ended and there are tons of places to explore and a bazillion quests to do.
You don't really need to worry too much about your skill level, your character advances pretty quickly just playing the game normally. You can powerlevel like that if you want, but it isn't really necessary. I got my alchemy up to about 80 pretty early on, and I use it a lot for mana/health potions. I like being able to pick herbs along the road and turn them into something.
I just recently made my first "real" magic item, a levitation amulet with a grand soul gem. Cost me 20k but fortunately I had lots of spare souls lying around, that I used to buy back all my cash. Of course an hour later I killed some guy who dropped a levitation dagger, so now I fly around for any excuse at all.
Fun game, wish I had a slightly faster system. Graphics beautiful but bogs down on my gimpy 800Mhz box.
wow, i've been absent from daoc for a while. I'll really miss you reinn and mal. You guys will be the first to know when a <good> patch comes to albion that will hopefully lure you back towards the gimped game with an awesome guild.
1.53 actually seems to have taken strength away from Hibs and given to Albs. It has also given strength to Mids though...still to be seen who gets the best benefit from the changes.
The Hibs seem to be beaten psychologically as well. After the Saturday relic raid, they still had only taken back 5 of their 8 keeps by mid-afternoon Sunday.
