Seeing as clerics will be getting a free respec next patch, Mattee would like suggestions on how to spec her level 50 cleric for the endgame. She's likely to use the character for helping lower-level guildies xp, epic groups, RvR, and exploring the new SI zones. Her solo xp'ing days are pretty much done, but she doesn't really care for the buffing aspect of the Cleric class, so she's not looking to turn Mattee into a buffbot.
Playing around with the Catacombs' character builder, I came up with the following possible specs:
Balanced
32 Enh (3rd Acuity buff)
36 Rejuv (3rd group heal)
24 Smite
Healing
27 Enh (1st-level resist buffs)
39 Rejuv (2nd spread heal)
24 Smite
Smiting
20 Enh (middling spec buffs)
30 Rejuv (1st spread heal)
40 Smite (Mezz and Stun should stick to lvl 50+ mobs)
Votes, questions, opinions?
If you want balanced, imho (looks good on paper)
33 enh, get 2nd body resist, 3rd acuity, 3rd best spec buffs in all classic lines
24 rej, get 2nd spec rez, with new casting time, single and group instas
35 smite, get the 34 level mez, and the 2nd best PBAE
The iffy part is the level 34 mez, although my level 35 DD lands most of the time (F Mythic).
None of this takes into account the new heal changes, although I think they're kinda cheap anyway. Hey, maybe they'll give me a mez that will automatically mez the most threatening enemy.
Disclaimer: I'm no cleric.
I'd take points from smite to put into enhance or rejuv, if I did anything different. Enhance makes your group better, which makes you more likely to live. Something like 46 enh 26 rej 10 smite
90 smite! bzzzzzzzzzzzttttttt
I'd probably ditch smite altogether and put the points in Rejuv/Enhance.
Noreen worked really hard on his cleric spec, I know he's got all the info to help you out with this one. A balanced spec is a good row to hoe, the question is really whether to focus on rejuv or enhance. With the spread heals rejuv might (maybe) a more attractive option now, whereas enhance was (is) the clear winner at the moment.
Oh one other thing, enhance past 40 is not really worth it. The last dex/qui buff roxors but past that, we're talking about single digit buff differences.
Also, the respec isn't going anywhere. May want to wait for feedback on the new heals, and may want to play post-50 for a bit, and decide what you like to do. For example, Ramizeth, Glanowyn, Xem, Myshkal, and Cirand all have diffferent specs (afaik) and they've all been successful.
I have to agree with Axe regarding going past 40 on enh. Yeah, you could get the nice resist for body by 45, spirit at 47, and energy at 48. The only thing is that with spellcraftering out there now and alchemist, it just seems like the extra points could go to balance out other areas in which to make the cleric a more balanced asset. I personally would like to drop my enh to 40 and place the rest into rej to help on the pwr, and to make my RvRing exping more enjoyable. Not having to place more stress on the other cleric in the grp to keep an eye on all while I'm sitting on my bum to get my pwr back.
Just my 2 copper pieces.
Question, how do you respec now for your skilled points?
Go to your trainer if you have an available respec and type '/respec all' to respec all skill points. Type '/respec realm' to respec realm skill points and type '/respec [skillname]' if you have a single skill line respec available.
I believe that's how it's done; someone correct me if I pulled a Kirin.
Did you ever get a good answer? The answer is 40e/36r/4s. No real smite to speak of, the first ae mezz (will be resisted an awful lot), uber buffs, spread heals.
Great advice guys, except for somebody who doesn't like buffing, you're offering up a lot of enh-spec templates :p
Also, consider that when we're rolling with an 8-man Vengie group, the likelyhood of having more than 1 50th level clerics is pretty high.
In fact, that's a good question: What's the current spec breakdown for the top Vengeance clerics?
Myshkal: Enh-spec
Cirand: ?
Xem: ?
Elwyn: ?
Zaan: ?
Camlache: ?
Tiren: ?
Pheuneral: ?
Snarf: ?
Pheuneral is pretty evenly split between enhance and rejuv (I think 30 or 31 in each, the remainder in smite).
This is based off snippets of conversations I've had over the last few months and may not be entirely accurate. It's a good question, though.
Xem is somewhere around 44-46 smite, 20ish rejuv/enh.
Cirand is 40 enh, teens smite, 30ish rejuv.
