Which ones are the most deadly?

I really want to play one of the many speed classes, because to me, speed=fun. But I'm thinking maybe I should go for a pure tank instead and trudge through the boring levels, because at least then i dont have to deal with 50% resist to my damage.
I'm still thinking about my crossbow spec'd armsman template. ;)
But minstrels are always fun too. My favorite character will always be my ol' smite cleric though.
Pure casters die too quick for me. I hate knowing that if a mob aggros on me, /release is a foregone conclusion. Pet classes mitigate this somewhat, but I find managing aggro with pet classes boring too, as it involves sitting back and let your pet melee until the mob is at 75% health before you can open up with the "fun" DD spells. It's even worse in RvR, because you can't manage aggro :(
Pure tanks are slightly better, as long as they have a variety of styles to play with. However, using the same 3-style chain over and over gets boring too. If I were to play a pure tank, I'd have to go pure offense, as I've been spoiled by my friar's damage output.
Hybrids are the only classes that really float my boat. Weapon-styles and spells, and some way to support a group at range (healing or fire support). Also, I don't think I'm getting my money's worth out of the game unless I have 4 bars to watch (life, end, power, and xp). :)
So, for albion, my top recommended classes are:
Friar - Only thing they lack is ranged DD, otherwise they're the total DAOC experience.
Reaver - Their group-support abilities (chants) are useless in a good group (with CC), but otherwise I've had no complaints so far.
Paladin - Much better group support than the Reaver, but diversity is hurt by the gimpness of some spec-lines (2-handers).

15% increase in dps along with a 9.2 dps damage add isn't too shabby. (21 enh/44 smite). Actually Nari, I should find out how hard you hit for... : /
It's extremely easy to level too. Kill tasks up to 20 take 1/2 the time they do with non-speed classes and beyond that you can start charming humanoid healing pets that allow you to chain pull oranges non-stop.
What's their damage like in RvR? What does their role usually turn into? Could I solo a skald? How long to take down a caster?
I wish I could get a hold of another account, I could powerlevel a minstrel with Malison easily i'm sure.
I'll probably start yet ANOTHER alt in a few minutes.
ah the joys of alting.
My primary role, at least what I try to do, is protect our casters and healers. Stuns, dds, and mes on the run helps out when our squishies are getting beat-down.
Minstrels are extremely versatile though, so giving them a 'single primary role' downplays what the character can actually do.
