They are now testing out the process of giving free 20s and 30s to characters who have a 50th level character already.
If you make a newbie on a underpopulated realm, you can level hem to 30 instantly. Otherwise, you can level them to 20.
I have no idea how you could outfit those characters though. Presumably you'd make a caster, go kill a bunch of mobs in DF, then outfit your other classes.
Is our realm considered underpopulated? Or would that be hib? Maybe I wont be so averse to making a character on MLF if this change goes live.
It will breathe some life into the game I'm sure, but they still need to get it right.

Getting from 20 to 24 should be almost painless. We could do BG1 til it hurt, everybody getting a chance to try any character he wanted. The really neat thing about it is we keep all the uber bg1 gear, swapping it around to our new guys after we level out. That sounds like a lot of fun.
I'll be on tonight around 6pm pac time if anyone wants a tank to help with leveling, even though the Lakers will be on!

I wonder what mythic's interpretation of an underpopulated realm will be? You could argue alb/iseult is extremely underpopulated when it comes to RvR, but when looking at the hard numbers, the population distribution for the server is nearly even between each realm.

i love the idea, should be fun.. i think mythic should have made it so you could create an instant 50 on pendragon or another test server to see what each class could do
I think they'll look at hard numbers and not rvr data. :/ Doesn't help our realm much, because as everyone knows alb/iseult is a pve realm.
And how will they distinguish between active and inactive players, if at all...
hmm my impression was that we were badly outnumbered by mids on this server and to some extent by Hibs though accross all servers Albion is far the most prevalent in terms of numbers, one of the reasons we suffer in RvR abilities i think.
I have a question, if you got a 50 you get new charactes at 20 but does that work on other servers??? Since the lowest of my 8 charactes here is 19 I hope so.

I don't think we're really down in population, just down in people who actively rvr.

Looks fairly balanced if you judge by percentages. There's only a 2% gap from the median for both the dominate (mid) and losing (alb) realms. If mythic just goes by hard numbers, I doubt alb/iseult will meet the free level 30 requirement.
If it were up to me, I'd base it on active rvr'ing population over the last 6 weeks weighted by total RP production. But this is Mythic we're talking about, they'll just add up all the active accounts and call it a day.
