Title: A new week
Post by: Malison on May 19, 2003, 03:27 PM
We had a pretty good weekend for the realm.  No, we didn't get relics, but we did have some fun battles.

We managed to fight back against about 6 or 7 runs of hibs and mids on our keeps. They were usually in groups of 8 to 16, with the RR8 hibs giving us the most problems.

The turnout was pretty nice, and at one point, we managed to get all but one of our keeps claimed! I think we held them off until that evening, when everyone went off to fight in Sidi or Emain.  Vengeance lost Benowyc as I was logging today for lunch.

We had a lot of fun, got to run with mostly guildies, and even tried taking a keep with just an infiltrator.  And we even got some RP for the whole affair.

We may not be able to gather 70 people to go take a keep back, but maybe one day we will be able to rally the troops.

aye, that was fun!  I wasn't there for the whole thing, but I had enough fun that I'll probably come back later for more.

News of our infiltrator/minstrel keep take spread pretty fast. They were talking about it later that night on /as. That was definitely pretty cool and I was surprised at how easy it was... the bladeturn, buffs, and ablative along with plenty of spreadheal available made it all very safe. I also burned a lot of endpotions... having a paladin there would have been even better, assuming the chant reaches.

It was, indeed, absurdly easy.

It would be interesting to try that out on a keep that was upgraded to a reasonable level (IIRC the ones we hit weren't very high).

I'm up for that anytime.  It was nice to not have to worry about organizing siege to retake a keep.

Die Albs!

I was the one who was organizing most of the mid's keep take's on sunday, had a fun time.

I remember we went out to go defend our keep's in Pennine, after about 10 LD's, albs retaking surs, and eras, we rolled up to eras again which was unclaimed with lvl 1 doors... We took eras back pretty quick, we were gonna claim it with Sleipnir's guild for a good laugh (Sleipnir's Bot's Inc) but before we could get some temp's together Falc rolled up with his crew and i even saw a vengie crew out.

Mal crit dot'ed me for 180 when i had 5% HP's and Axe kicked some ass on the walls, i even saw G crawl up and put down some mezzes... Don't worry Mal i got you back with the 600+ nukes and deathspam at hurby :P

But tell me... How did you guys just happen to know Hurby was under attack? Guess we should have brought rams, nerf bored albs.

hehe, nice Demi!

Um, as far as Hurb goes (I wasn't there at that point), could it be that you guys were attacking unclaimed keeps nonstop all day?  At some point someone was bound to cruise by when you were just getting started.  :)

Die Mid bastages!

I forgot you were playing Zercata (that is who right?)  I was just happy to be killing mids, I had no idea they were friends :)

That day was hell on my IRS, but then again, all keep raids usually are.  We came out with a few K of RP though! Thanks for coming out.

Our noobs must be really missing DF by now.

At that point hubury was the only unclaimed keep, and since those were getting hit a lot that day it was natural to assume that's where you were going. We actually got some intel from Claithe (who noodled that through along with the rest of us) who checked it prior to us arriving there.

I got lucky on the walls on that first engagement, managed to stun you in nuke range and Nari actually delivered the killshot.

All in all it was a pretty fun day.
