Bah, the player ranking hasn't updated in 3 days. I've fought people who I thought were level 8 that are actually level 10. There goes my 80% win record :(

I'm like level 6  or 7 now.  I need some vassals so i can get gold.  Its very difficult to defeat people who have 1000 gold.

That gets much harder to do as you get higher. I'm level 9 now and finding someone with losses is pretty tough.  I'm going all offense for now.

The problem with that is people will intentionally lose (by having another character repeatedly attack them and win) in the lower levels to make it look like they suck. People end up attacking them, thinking they're not very good and the attacker dies, the guy with the crappy record gains levels/gold while they are afk. Read that on the boards.

The only strategy I've found that works is to dump 90% of all your gold into weapons. Stats are worthless till much higher levels (like 20+) and I'm not even sure armor actually does anything.

You gain no gold if you are attacked and win.  Only if you attack some on. So if you get to level 50 and have a record of 0 and 500, you are going to have crap for weapons.

armour does little, i just put some money into it and they miss me a lot now

at lvl 7, my weapons are only an iron wakizashi and steel dagger but I have a lot of power (undead) so my weapons do some damage

i only have 2 in life, but i have 10 in regen and 2 in defence (defence doesnt really do all that much)

they could possibly recruit shit loads of people, get shit loads of gold from them, and get exp while they are afk

if you get like 40 squires, and they all make it to level 15, thats 6000 gold right there. then just buy uber weapons, get to lvl 5, get tons of life and regen, and then go afk again. now people will attack you thinking you suck with a bad record and you kick their ass = )

You're catching up pretty quick Amb. If you keep putting all your money into weapons you can probably beat me when you hit 10.

I haven't had the patience to level much lately, it's just an all around pain in the ass now that the player rankings never update and I have to keep clicking people till I find someone that isn't 5 levels higher than me. The attack timer annoys me too.

I logged into the page once, got an account and created a character, but once I had I couldn't *do* anything. No cash to buy weapons, no interface for fighting other players, nada. Maybe it was during maintenance or something...

Oops, there we go. My Barbarian of 0 levels just smacked the crap out of an undead of 0 levels. Woo-ha!

edit: Undead seem to be the natural bitches of Barbarians.

I think the fighting interface needs some work. You have to click on the player rankings and go to the very last page if you wanna fight level 0s. It wouldn't be that hard to code a search utility or maybe even a random matchup that automatically chooses an opponent of the same level. Might be a bandwidth issue though, I dunno.

From what I've read on the boards, you shouldn't invest in armor until you have the very best weapons. It doesn't really do anything for you in the low levels.

What does life give you?

I put 1 point in life and it gave me 6 more hit points. Not really worth the 30g I paid for it

So I blew my fist lil bit of gold at first level on a dagger and a helmet. I'm still getting my ass beat pretty regularly by equal-level opponents. Anybody figured out which races I should be gunning for for optimum chance at victory?

funny, cause at lvl 0 i used to smack the tard out of barbarians, i guess it depends on who attacks first or whatever

i havnt played for 3 days, and im not gonna play until new tourny begins. the tourny was supposed to end like last week and it still hasnt = (

oh and sodom, instead of armour, just get another weapon. 2 weapons is essential, yet i wonder how the 2h weapons work out in later levels
