Comic books and useless trivia are my Achilles heel - I may not exercise my Geekiness, but it's all stored away in my melon.

Steve Jackson owns. You don't remember that whole flap where the FBI raided his company, stole all their computers, and basically put them out of business? It put the Free Software Foundation on teh map.

Some SJ games have jumped to computer games. OGRE was awesome... wish I could get an old copy of that, it's out of print and they vigorously defend their copyright from places like http://www.the-underdogs.org, even if they can't sell you a copy themselves. Car wars... GEV... countless tabletop/cardboard counter war games.

http://www.sjgames.com

Ran 'steve jackson' through a search engine and came up with this. Even after reading through the website, I still don't know wtf a steve jackson game is. Is it like a board game w/ book length instruction manuals? Some of the descriptions make it sound like a computer game but then it starts talking about stuff like 10 sided dice and I'm totally lost.

SJ got his start a ways back, most of them are tabletop games, some involving boards (OGRE) and some more abstract than that (Illuminati). Most involve fairly large but flexible rule sets.

GURPS, Generic Universal Roleplaying System, is a pretty popular D&D-type role playing game. Very high on the geek factor. I never got seriously into it like I did with AD&D first generation rules.

Origin started publishing a bunch of SJ's games for the Commodore 64 and IBM PC as early as 1988. Car wars was pretty fun. Ogre was awesome.

Supremacy was a SJ game that we converted to a PBEM game.

29.98028% - Total Geek

Random knowledge, extensive roleplaying and a healthy amount of lust earned me the title of "Total Geek".
