Title: Farming scrolls
Post by: Siddhartha on Jan 05, 2004, 02:00 PM
Who can help me farm scrolls for the shades cloak?

Not sure how many peeps we need but I'd like to do it with people who need other scrolls from that area.

Details, man! Details!:

- What area will you be farming?
- What mobs drop your scrolls?
- What other scrolls do they drop?
- What other mobs are in that area, and what scrolls do they drop?

Shades of Mists (http://www.visionofsages.net/toa/artifacts/shades.shtml)

Looks like you can do it with 2-3 people to farm these. Due to my uberness you and I can probably duo them with buffs.

More details here (http://vnboards.ign.com/Trials_of_Atlantis:_Quests_and_Artifacts/b22590/61900102/?24) on where to farmz0rs.

Story Scroll pieces:  Regarding Shades

Piece 1 of 3 s

off a Kahket Siam-He Priest
Piece 2 of 3

dropped off Taurs near Ring of Fire encounter
from taur altheus at 38.1k 20.7k
Tuar phulaxes drop them very regularly.  Phulaxes spawn at the outside of the Flask stronghold. Head to the Siam-He island in the south, crossing over the pillared bridge. Follow the lava shoreline to the E/NE and cross the second bridge you see to the N. That is the Flask stronghold.  And the phulaxes themselves aren't that easy, all purple to deep purple. Go with a decent group of at least 5 or 6 (fg better) to kill them fast/efficiently. Dec 10   (Looks like the bridge in typhons that lead from the Siam-he to Flask castle is now covered in Taur. No more soling to the Phulux  Dec 18)    - Sirand and Sherman

drops off of the taur altheus on Malice Island also. Spawn is a bit better over there. They spawn rright across the bridge on the hill as well as the sw corner of Malice Island. ALtheus are pretty much np to solo if you have a bot  Dec 12  - Braede

Piece 3 of 3

from Kahket Siam-he warrior at the camp located at 44k 49k  (screen shot from Intuit)
The Ausar warriors drop #3 also  Dec 15  - Bobbanator
Guildy got one off a Ausur Siam-he warrior   Dec 30   - Darkpride

Damn dude -   unlike you or Axe I actually work for a living. So there is a limit to how much research I can do during work hours.

There's no limit to my dreams however.

Okay, but I got dibs on any of the Tartaros' Gift scrolls we get. If we can get enough turnout, we can go after High Priest Siam-he and get me the staff itself.

Weekdays after 10:30pm to about 3:00am is my usual stretch. I usually get in a couple hours on the weekends too, but I generally don't set aside time on the weekends to play - I figure I get enough game in on the weekdays, its not like I'm one of those sad addicted losers...

Yeah, we ran into a situation last night where Sidd and I could barely hold our own against 1 taur, and due to group size we were pulling 3 at a time. Not pretty. A lot of the rec-con mobs in ToA seem to be much tougher than their old-world equivalents. I can solo red-con DF mobs all day, but stuff like the cyclopses, animate statues and taurs kick my arse due to their heavy damage and high hp's.

Yeah, the red taur are a lot tougher than a standard red mob. If we got a dedicated healer, I could PBAE them pretty easily... I just can't do both there since the group wasn't able to manage aggro very well. They are like -20% to cold.
