Never thought of doing this, but what a great idea. You can charm the baby scorpions (blue con to 50) and keep the charm on it as it evolves into an orange giant scorpion... pwn!! (http://vnboards.ign.com/Trials_of_Atlantis_Discussion_Forum/b22445/62376654/?9)
All you need to do is make an iaculus bleed, and make sure the number of scorpions in the zone is under 200 (might need to kill some off) and you're golden.

woot ill have to try that, but important question can they go underwater? ive used sacred lions today which are very tough when buffed. I still mourn the loss of the Criosphinx witnesses though. They were uber. Wonder how long till they nerf the Scorpions?

This will get nerfed like the Haunted Apple Trees in SI. You could charm them when they were blue and young and then they would grow and be orange. Then they made them uncharmable. Exploit it while you can! =)
Yep given the apple tree thing, no way Mythic could have seen this scorpion pet thing coming.
I always thought they nerfed the ability to charm trees because they created haunted seedman (or maybe it's the other way around?)
Anyway, it's only a level 51 pet so I doubt it's high on the nerf priority list. If it evolves into an elder scorpion (which is like level 60+) then you lose the charm and it kills you.

heh I agree on them not seeing it coming, but TOA is hugely anti sorcerer and Im not so sure that nerfing them will be low on there list of priorities. There are simply horders of MOBs you cant charm or confuse or in quite a few instance even mez. Criosphinx witnesses were really nice level 50 pets yet they went to the trouble of nerfing them despite there being pretty much the only pet you could get on the Volcanus side of the bridges in Typhons reach and with little else on the other side other than Taur spectators.
There reason for doing this was that the witnesses marked a site which everyone could quite clearly see with or without the witnesses because of the criosphinx themselves. The witnesses didnt actually do anything but they were an awesome go anywhere pet and your only way to fight over the Taur bridge as a sorcerer. Yet they patched to make them non charmable basically giving you nothing to charm in Typhons at all now.
Well tested this out and they are very nice pets and they go underwater as well.
Yeah. They proc their poison attack about as often as my stick procs in combat, though it seems to be about half as potent - maybe 30-40 per tick.
Well I think they may have nerfed this already. I finally worked out a safe way to get these which is to confuse them so they fight each other and wait for one of the crowd to bleed.
However last night not only was the confuse behaving erratically in that some confused mobs locked onto me to the exclusion of all other targets, and never seemed to even attempt to change. But also the mobs were pretty much refusing to bleed, I normally need to attack two max to get a bleeder, last night i killed some thirty odd and in that time ony one bled and i missed the little sucker as he sprinted into the distance. So unless this is an aberation you going to take a long time to get a pet like this unless your lucky.
Other good pets are apparently Salamanders (the highest hit point pet you can get im told without about 6000 hps) which sometimes con yellow though when I attempted to get one i got the impression that the agro range on the Criosphinx has been extended so its no longer possible to sneak between two of them like you used to. Or flaming lengui, the onlly downside to this being if someone completes the dreamsphere encounter you loose your pet.

The snakes don't bleed if the scorp camp is full. You have to run just a little ways left of the valley and you'll see a whole bunch of giant scorps. Confuse or kill a few of these and they'll start bleeding again.
