Title: 1.69a
Post by: Axecleaver on Mar 09, 2004, 04:04 PM
OMG -- Kidshealer just became an offensive FoTM powerhouse. Eat Piety Bounce Noureen!!

"
- We have added buff shearing spell lines to the Shaman, Druid, and Cleric buffing lines. These spells are designed to be used offensively against enemy realm targets to remove one of their buffs. Characters who have a buff enhancement ripped off them via these spells will also take some damage due to the buff shearing effect. Characters who do not have a buff removed will not be damaged. Concentration and timed buffs that a character has cast on themselves are immune from buff shearing.

Cleric - Enhancements Spec Line (Single Target)
23 Piety Pilfer (Acuity)
24 Adroitness Evulse (Dexterity)
25 Embodiement Fray (Constitution)
26 Brawn Reflux (Strength)
27 Endowment Impair (Strength/Constitution)
29 Deftness Snatch (Dexterity/Quickness)
31 Piety Sequester (Acuity)
32 Adroitness Commandeer (Dexterity)
33 Embodiement Annex (Constitution)
35 Brawn Appropriate (Strength)
36 Endowment Sieze (Strength/Constitution)
38 Deftness Usurp (Dexterity/Quickness)

Cleric - Enhancements Spec Line (Area of Effect)
42 Piety Bounce (Acuity)
43 Adroitness Eradicate (Dexterity)
44 Embodiement Banish (Constitution)
46 Brawn Unloose (Strength)
47 Endowment Dispossess (Strength/Constitution)
48 Deftness Irrupt (Dexterity/Quickness)

This is a pretty crazy patch. Effectively nerfs the practice of having a BB at the APK because there's going to be so very much AE antibuff stuff flying around. Our group's gonna pwn!

But jesus christ I'm going to rebuffing 20 buffs after every gd fight.

wonder what the difference between the tiers is gunna be...

23 Piety Pilfer (Acuity)
31 Piety Sequester (Acuity)

probably the damage done, since you cant really remove a buff more

"- The original spells have been returned to the Celestius items."

Just noticed this little gem quietly tucked away under the ToA changes. Anyone have a link to what those procs were? If memory serves, it was stuff like spreadheals, full endurance heals and massive debuffs.

Ya, up yours mythic. Where's my damn RvR expansion?

yeah, the Celestius item change is BS imho.  They'll change it back as soon as more than 2% of the playerbase gets done w/ ML 10

I think, at least in Albion, that the tier is going to be those w/ enh > 36.  That's probably the most common cleric spec (40rej, 36 enh), so at least now people might actually play their buffbots once in a while.

more from the patch notes:

"- The stun component on the Albion thrust style, Dragonfang, has been reduced to 5 seconds. We will be offering a respec for those affected by the Dragonfang change before this change goes to the live servers."

eh, probably a justified reduction, but its pretty crappy that hibs get essentially the same style (dunno about growth rates) at 25 peirce spec, vs our 50 thrust spec.

"- New buff spells have been added for the three primary buff classes in the game (cleric, shaman, and druid). These spells are point blank area of effect buffs that affect up to 40 targets within a radius of 1000 units, and which are about 50% as effective as their concentration counterparts on the same lists and have a 10 minute duration. These new buff spells are intended to help more characters have access to buffs in RvR and on PvE raids.

Cleric - Enhancements Spec Line
34 Archangels Allotment (Strength/Constitution)
45 Archangels Apportioning (Strength/Constitution)
39 Benefit of the Archangel (Dexterity/Quickness)
49 Bounty of the Archangel (Dexterity/Quickness)
30 Acuity of the Council (Acuity)
41 Acuity of the Congregation (Acuity)"

seems cool to me, definetly nice for people w/ out bots...might be hell for cler's trying to do things and have people spamming "can i get some buffs??!!/!?!!1" then "OMGWTF <insult>" if you dont hook them up .3 seconds later.

"- The maximum number of turrets than an Animist can have spawned at any one time has been reduced to 15. We are making this change because of the severe problems to game balance, frame rate, and server stability caused by the combination of Animist turrets and power increasing items found in Trials of Atlantis."

good.

"The damage of the Nightshade's line of shouts, Dart of Night through Lance of Night, has been increased."

hopefully not much - sure the DD wasnt that great, but do NS's really need help??

"The Shades of Mist and Traitor's Dagger now use new artwork to replace the necromancer shade form previously used for the shape change illusions. This change will no longer allow characters to be effectively invisible in some situations."

prolly good

"The original spells have been returned to the Celestius items."

um...werent those the ones with spread-heals and stuff?? this is no good - amagine a mid tank group with 2-3 healers and tanks proccing spread-heals (:()...might be hard to come by, but with the mids on our server i dont doubt it could happen.

Early test results are showing that you need high enhance to unbuff people -- in other words only the > 40 unbuffs are working right now to remove capped buffs. The lower ones are removing the new zerg buffs.

Friars do not gain DEX or QUI as they level. This was an oversight on Mythics part from the beginning of the game. To make up for this, Friars were given a DEX/QUI self-buff. In light of the new buff-stripping spells, I'd rather have Mythic fix my stat progression than give me a self-buff that opens me up to taking damage when its removed.

"- Self targeted "no recast" spells, such as self bladeturns, should now overwrite group pulsing bladeturns even during the 2.5 second no recast period."

Does this include the Friars' self-AF buff being overwitten by Pally AF-chant?

read it again sod, it doesn't remove self buffs

But it would still remove baseline buffs he had cast on himself, right? Guess we need to check that.

I'm just tired of twisting pallies running AF for a few seconds and then switching to some other chant, meanwhile the act of them turning it on and off has erased my self-only af buff :)

doesn't remove self-targetted conc buffs either

So friars just got awfully uber. Debuff everybody and you get to slug it out with self buffs.

"- Increased the buff spells for both Hunters and Rangers to bring them more inline with those available from buffing classes. Hunter’s Frenzied Spirit and Heart of the Lynx lines have been adjusted upwards, as has Ranger’s Sharpened Senses line."

This would make me angry if I still played my scout.

yeah, that's kind of stupid.  I always assumed the intention behind those self-buffs was to assist in soloing when a buffer wasn't available, not to essentially include a buffbot in the class.  I played a ranger to around 30th level (pre /level), and I thought the self-buffs were about right.  I was thrilled when I had druid buffs, but could get by w/o them.

The original intention was that scouts would get tracking and bow styles in exchange for self buffs that hunters and rangers got. But we all know how that turned out.

The rogue boards are spammed with "DF NERFED!!1!11" threads so it's hard to tell if there's really any outrage over it in the scout community. It's mostly a PvE thing anyway, in RvR those self buffs suck because you have to come out of stealth and give away your location every 10 mins to rebuff. Still, it'd be nice to have some PvE lovin' since scouts are one of the hardest classes to solo with in the early levels.

Now that I think about it, this probably angers me even more:

"- We’ve added pet cure mesmerize spells for Necromancers, Bonedancers, and Animists. Necromancers will receive Dead Awakening in their baseline Painworking line. Bonedancers will receive Free Spirits in their baseline Bone Army line. Animists will receive Purifying Rain in their baseline Verdant Path line. "

I understand necros getting the spell since they can't do anything while their pet is mezzed; but Animists and BD's? They both have baseline nukes, spec nukes, and have the ability to summon more pets without losing 90% of their life.

Meh, whatever. If mythic would just fix purge for necros this wouldn't even be an issue in the first place.

Bonedancer pets tend to get killed rather than mezzed most of the time anyway, so that's not such a big deal imo. The bd has to choose between dotting you or unmezzing his pets. (He probably can't insta-lifetap while casting the mezz or it will interrupt the cast, although I'm just guessing here). I can live with this.

The AE unmezz for animists is extremely powerful; there is now no counter to the animists pets, who are not vulnerable to amnesia like theurgist pets, nor mezz now, nor root since they nuke at range, nor anything except actually killing them. Plus they last for two minutes unlike theurgist pets. But oh yeah, they can't do more than 15 now, which means they aren't the PvE gods they were for the last few months.

Necros have now become completely unmezzable. The shade cannot be mezzed, and he has a 15s unmezz spell. That's a long cast time, but effectively you just gave necros Det 7 -- the one minute mezz will be nullified in about 6-7 seconds.

"This would make me angry if I still played my scout."

yup. how anyone came to the conclusion that rangers needed help is beond me. all the bow of a scout, all the melee of an assasin, and now all the buffage of a druid, all rolled into one 1'6" little toon.
