Probably a lot -- $200? $300? Guess we'll find out pretty soon.

I take it the screenshot is real except for a bit of editing ie top right corner etc.

Ive had experience with Bit torrent downloads before and found them to be incrediably slow even with smaller files, anyone else used them?? Unless it was just the server I was dealing with this is going to be a really bad way to distribute the software for those who want it.

There are no bit torrent servers exactly -- the way it works is it downloads portions from all other people trying to download that file. There are Seed servers to basically start you out, but after the file proliferates you might be downloading portions from 100 different people at once.

Your ability to D/l will be related to how many other people are getting the file at the same time you are. If there's only a few other people with the file, your d/l rate would be pretty slow.

Guess I was way off. It's at $425 at 1am... (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3085935645&category=4596) this is for a beta account now, that will get purged in a few months. Unbelievable.

Undead are immune to mez... undead priest for me!

That was my thinking as well. The reviews I've seen are saying that priests can solo pretty well too, and that support classes in general don't suffer from the same drawbacks classic support classes in EQ/daoc do.

That first link that Marm posted has a looooooong article by someone in on the alpha test. Tons of info. Sounds like it's going to be pretty cool.

So, the question becomes: Will Vengeance be Allaince or Horde?

I think Axe has pretty much decided on Horde, and I don't blame him.

My top three race/class combos are all on the Horde side as well, personally.

hunter, warlock and druid definetly seem cool to me - i especially love the way they are implementing hunter pets.

"While Warcraft players know [trolls] by their Jamaican accents, voodoo-flavored culture and wild hairstyles, the trolls are also cruel, sadistic and evil, the sort of creatures who would trap the soul of an enemy's loved one to use as a bargaining chip."

lol, what more can you ask for in a race??

I'd really like to go horde, for three reasons:

* The only class differences are paladin/shaman. Shaman look like solid group support and paladin look like melee hybrids with not as much group support. So I'd rather have stronger teams.
* I can see a lot of n00bs going alliance
* undead mezz immunity seems pretty uber

i also read in there that undead are the only race that can understand both the horde's languege and the alliance's

Tauren druid and tauren shaman were my other two picks, just cuz taurens look cool.

Well to speak to Amber's question -- I would like to try this game as a guild, but whether it takes us out of DaoC will probably revolve around a few factors:

- Is the PvP good enough to satisfy our urges?
- Did enough people come over to retain our guild community? This didn't happen in Horizons and this is why we never really got too interested in it.
- Does Frontiers screw up balance so much that DaoC is no longer worth playing? I'm a little concerned this could happen. OTOH, it could screw up balance to the point where it's funner for us than the current environment, which is already pretty screwed up imo.

My crystal ball says about half of you will play WoW with me and we'll still play DaoC and have fun in both.
