It's unfortunate, this one may have been decent.  It's amazing how few online games actually make it all the way.

hrmm, i was gonna include in my gaming major things like programming, networking, animation, and maybe music/literature all the things crucial for a computer game - maybe i should add a few business classes to that!

The problem with this project was that from what I saw, there wasn't much to differentiate it from all the other mmorpgs. Don't get me wrong, Warhammer Fantasy Battle (and Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay) is one of the coolest worlds/settings in roleplaying - which is why Blizzard stole liberally from them for their Warcraft series. With WoW coming down the pike, there's really not much room for another dark-medival fantasy MMORPG.

What they should have done was release a tactical-strategy MMORPG based on the miniatures game, where each player controls an army - but Games Workshop has always been against the idea because it might "dilute the fanbase." Though the RTS they're releasing for WH40K looks pretty sweet, it's still horribly neutered and could hardly be considered a "faithful" adaptation of the minis game.

I doubt any computer game could be a sufficient 'adaptation' of the WH/WH40k board game.   It's been going on for what, nearly 20 years?
