Camelot Vault: Can you tell us what any of the new classes are yet?
Matt Firor: I'm happy to say - for the first time in public - that Albion's new class will be called the Zealot. The backstory for this class is that it starts out as a member of the Church of Albion (as an Acolyte), but at 5th level renounces the Church and becomes an adherent of Arawn, the lord of the underworld who was introduced in the Shrouded Isles expansion - and becomes in effect, an evil Cleric. Zealots will be able to use flexible weapons , but will be restricted to cloth armor as well as small shields. As evil Clerics, they fit into the fighter/mage/cleric hybrid category, with the use of combat styles and high-damage focus spells. It'll bring a unique combination of abilities to the game.
As for the other four classes, you all will have to wait a bit.
So this is basically a friar with crappier armor and "focus spells"? yeah, I don't think I'm gonna be picking this expansion up.
lol another hybrid. Helloooo we were making fun of you Mythic when we said "Hey I bet they give us another hybrid class we sure could use one of those"
It's a hybrid of a hybrid and a mage. I think the technical term is "watered down."
sounds a little redundant with alb, but does anyone want to set some odds on how many we see in BG's a week after Catacombs is released?
People are going to have to decide which alt to delete. Isn't gonna be pretty. When will we see the first "need to expand charslots to 9!!!"
Remember when it was "impossible" to expand the slots beyond 4? Good times.
Part of a European DAoC address by either Jacobs or Frior states that the amount of character slots is increasing to 10 (ten).
So part fighter in cloth armor. yeah, he'll last long. I can't see this being a popular class. Unless of course since this one will be evil, they make it so he can kill other albs. mawahaha!!!
hehe, they'll probably give him a self-ABS buff or something, lol
btw, thanks for stealing my "friar with crappier armor" comment for your IGN post axe.
lol, Axe the Plagierizer!
It's so true though. Much better than my observations.
Sounds to me like a Valewalker without the scythe.
