i made a monk/warrior (by accident actually) and played him through the newb training thing (which wasnt painfully bad, like many are). then i made a necromancer/menser and played that for a while. both the combos i tried seemed to work well. was pretty fun.
Going through a mission now with this pickup group, pretty fun. I noticed there's many copies of a zone (districts) so unless we are all in the same one we will never run into each other.
The pvp is ok I guess, haven't really figured much of it out yet.
- NPC group members steal loot and money so you're better off either grouping with real people or taking only the minimum of what you think you'll need. I was able to duo pretty much everything on my elementist with an NPC monk.
- Buy loot kits and salvage everything you get that you can't use. Once you have a stack of 10, go to the craft supply seller and sell it for some extra money. If you can come up with a stack of 10 cloth, hide, or scales you can get around 150g. Everything else goes for between 10-60g for a stack.
- The craft supply seller refreshes his loot every minute or so. If you continuously click on him, he'll eventually have what you want - just have to be quick on the drag-drop-click or else someone else will get it first. This was the only way I could get the cloth I needed to craft a new set of armor, it was kind of frustrating.
- For PvP, the only thing I learned is pets > all. I had an awesome group that won like 15 in a row until we got owned by 3 rangers with their level 19 uber pets. I'm thinking that probably needs some tweaking before launch.
Overall, fun game but I can see myself losing interest pretty fast. I like the idea of putting in an actual story arch that you can play through - it makes it feel less like you're grinding. But eventually I can see it becoming like D2 where you just repeat the same area over and over.
Oh, and watch out for the invincible healer boss mobs.
Axe - what's your last name? You can only search for people by their full names'.
Sod?
You know what's great about 12-year-olds, though? When you slick their hair back, they look like they're 8.
hehe, j/k :P Just trying to live up to the unrealistic expectations you all have of me. Oh, the pressure!
Sick Bastage.
