you know how in DAoC, the more point you put in parry the less blocks you would get on your sheild? does the same work with evasion? I'm not sure whether I should spec in both parry and evade or just parry (because of ripost)
dunno, someone would have to do some tests to figure out which order the game checks the defensive abilities vs each swing.
nope, spec in both my fine italian friend
But honestly, rogues have enough evade when you have alot of agility items.. i wouldnt waste my points putting extra into defense.. if you want a character with defense, play a tank.. youre better off spending your talent points into damage oriented stuff you can kill faster
Reading the rogue posts, there does seem to be a split on where to spend your talents -- there's a fairly large number of people who are specing for defense like Amber is suggesting. Seems like a valid approach.
yea, i think just from playing a sorc (compared to playing like a wizard) i play more defensivly anyways
Evade and shield are halved against dual wielders. This is why scouts always get ripped a new one against assasins.
I still wonder where they came up with that concept. A sword and sheild armed person would beat a dual weilding person in RL almost 100% of the time. There is a reason that almost no one dual weilded melee weapons in RL and those that did used the second weapon to parry with. I think its something akin to the old thinking with tanks (AFV's) that if one gun was good two or more was better, of course they werent and neither are two swords or daggers.
zzzzzzzzzz
huh? are we still talking about this game?
Better than talking about all the l33t crafting and PvE you guys are doing.
hey now, I kicked two Alliance asses at the same time yesterday. I was riding over to an NPC to turn in a quest and get my l33t gear reward when I saw the spam, so I took a slight detour. One of them ALMOST got close enough to hit me before he bit the dust, lol.
Surprise attacks FTW.
