courtesy of anandtech--but it looks like it's been pre-empted by yesterday's patch, which changed graphics performance somewhat--for example, i read that now anti-aliasing works with full-screen glow, and the 'fix lag' box also has something to do with graphics performance (not sure what)
So any conclusions on you l33t sleuthing about why my 'fix lag' icon is always greyed out? is there another button/feature it works off of that i may not have checked? And, more importantly, would it make much of a difference to really matter....
i think the 'fix lag' box relates to problems people with certain add-ons were having with low framerates. if you don't have any third-party add-ons installed that put new toolbars, buttons or windows on your screen, that might explain the greyed-outness of your checkbox. according to my team of researchers, you should only check the box if you were having problems of that nature anyway, otherwise it could actually slow down framerate.
if you do actually have addons installed, then I am at a loss and will have to commission further study.
The only add-on installed is the wowroster. Which, by the way no longer works thanks to the patch :) Gotta love Blizzard!
I get 30fps with "fix lag" on, and 60fps with it off. Previously I got about 30fps. The graphics also seem a lot crisper now, something to do with the AA settings I think.
they made it so full-screen glow effect now works with anti-aliasing. previously if you turned glow on, AA wouldn't work.
the game itself doesn't let you set AA, you have to do that in your video driver settings.
legs, i don't know why your fix lag box is greyed out.

having the 'fix lag' button greyed must have something to do with my puter settings outside of wow. i went to my sisters this weekend and played on her puter, and the 'fix lag' WASN'T greyed. hmmm....the plot thickens.
And i'm not sure how to configure my driver, so if that's it, i'll need g33k h3lP. tanks!!
