Vengeance

So I was reading through some stuff on terranova today, and saw a relatively innocuous comment from Scott Jennings. I'm like, hey, that's Lum from DAOC, I wonder what he's up to. His link took me to Broken Toys (//www.brokentoys.org), which I guess is his blog.

Mostly crap, but a few interesting items. And I found it weird that he reads mostly the same internet crap I do.

wasn't he the guy who won a whole bunch of money on jeopardy like a year ago?

edit - nm, just read his bio... he works for mythic so I'm guessing it's a different scott jennings. I'm still not sure who this guy is or why he has his own fan club though...

In a nutshell: Jennings runs a rant site with web boards and complains about the state of mmorpgs. When he started the site I think there was only UO and EQ out. He had quite a following, myself included. It became quite popular and even devs started showing up and posting there. He gave up the site and boards when Mythic hired him; some say he sold out.

All in all I liked the site. Jennings is a fairly talented writer with a humorous bent. I think the best part was some of the rants and flame wars on the boards. Most were infantile but some were pure genius.

I believe the insult 'asshat' was coined on that site. IIRC, some game was in development that had character or npc that had a bulbous head that resembled an ass.

Zut, I believe you're thinking of Ken Jennings from Jeopardy.
