Robotics went okay, I guess... we missed qualifying for state by 0.15 points out of 75 possible points. We kinda got screwed around, the team that beat us by fifteen-hundreths of a point we're pretty certain didn't build their own robot or do the work... they're a middle school with like eight coaches or something. The people, we're certain, messed with the scores to bump them into state and not us, since they were the host school. It would've helped if our robot was fully functional, but it's still the closest we've ever been to making state, and my school has a reputation for getting a lot of these robotics internships... my chances are good, I think!
As for football... we're undefeated, have a bye week this week and next Friday, play the other (possibly) undefeated team in district for the championship. After that, we're in the playoffs. We clinched playoffs with our win the week before last and clinched a top two finish with the win last week.
In the playoffs, we're either going to play the NUMBER THREE TEAM IN THE STATE or the current number 25. We're pretty pumped up for either, though. To open district, we demolished a team that was ranked 25th and held their all-star runningback to 3 yards a carry.
Both teams went in 7-2 and 5-0 in district, we came out as the champs and are going in to the playoffs riding an 8 game win streak. 3 or 4 of those wins, we were 25+ point underdogs. We were the favorites in maybe three of the ten games all season. And we're playing a team that's heavy run oriented and relies on one player. It should be our school's first ever playoff victory.
Week two of the playoffs will give us an easier team. Week three, though, even though I really shouldn't be looking ahead, we would play the team ranked 1 or 2 in the state, depending on who you ask.
grats Yaz! good luck bro, try not to break anything :)
We played like crap in the playoffs, and I think the other team was 'roided up. I should be coming back right around Thanksgiving
