Title: GT with 9 miles
Post by: Axecleaver on Apr 14, 2006, 01:22 AM
Guy preorders a Ford GT (http://acrosstheboard.blogspot.com/2006/02/dude-what-happened-to-your-car.html), waits two years, pays his $200k, and drives it nine miles before spinning out and driving a steel pole through the middle... makes you want to cry.

The car is now listed in a salvage yard for $60k (parts, I guess -- rear engine, so that's all salvageable.)

What an idiot; he's some irresponsible rich guy that got what he deserves.

The comments section of that blog is hilarious.

'I think you can just buff that out.'

'Man what is that post made out of? There is not a scratch on it.'

'Man, what are the odds of ending up totally lined up with those orange marks? ;)'

'Knuckle-dragging testosteroid...

Nice car...BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA. That is a karma kick in the ass...

Earth: "Try my nifty coefficient of friction game..."

Car: "Whoa...."

Owner: "Sh*T!"

Earth: "That's for getting 8 mpg, you oil hungry, rich, trogladyte."'

'If it comes in any other color than standard white,I want a prototype of the pole.'

'What is the penalty for felony stupidity? '

Yep, the comments were great. I liked the guy who thought the engine was in the front (it's a rear-engine car).

heh, i like how people get all excited when something bad/dumb/whatever happens to someone who has more money than they do.  these same folks would freak out if some homeless guy mugged them though.

This (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/04/17/AR2006041701759.html) story is even better. Guy walks away from a 162mph crash in his $1.6m Ferrari Enzo. Now that is one well-built car.

Incidentally, the guy is the owner and CEO of company who produced the Gizmondo (http://www.gizmondo.com) game system.

Speaking of Gizmondo, I had a dog named Mondo when I was a kid.

I hesitate to ask what you did with the dog for it to get the other half of its name.
