Here's some testing (250 tests each) around crafting crits for an item well beneath his skill level at 0 and 4000 DP, and found no signficant crit rate difference. Both were around 25% (0 DP was a little above, 4000 DP a little below).

This is good stuff. I've personally noted no difference either, but i've made it a point to go out and get dp before i craft just to be safe
