I was on my way to Erasleigh, which we were sieging, when I ran across a Fiery Demon (new mob in snowdonia, yellow to me) and a blue shadowhunter. I killed the blue but was going to take an xp death from the yellow mob. At about 5% life, Kisandria of CEA wandered by, and healed me in the nick of time.
She was planning to head to the Hib milegate for the 43 epic quest. Clerics and Paladins share the same quest. Darith was coming with me to Erasleigh, so the three of us grouped up and went to Eras. It fell in very short order and we picked up Sirious, a cleric in a guild whose name I forget.
The four of us headed up to the Templars at the hib gate. Pretty uneventful trip. When we got there, the templars aggro'd on us as part of the epic, and I died. CEA was nearby with a group of folks, so we all joined up, pulled a templar, and completed the quest step without any further trouble. After the pull, the rest of the group disbanded and it was just me and the two clerics.
The next step was to go to Barrows and kill the wandering Templar and his two little Purity ho's. We got another paladin to join us (he was pretty clueless though) and Ross joined us with Pheuneral. We hung out in the Echo room killing stuff, waiting for the templar to wander by. After 30 minutes or so we decided to go looking near Advisors.
Just past the Barbarian room, we spotted the templar. Kis pulled with smite and I healchanted and engaged. The other paladin went linkdead just in time (argh) and the clerics wasted all their mana keeping me alive. It was a long, drawn out battle, but in the end I died again, Kis went down, Pheuneral went down, and Sirious made it out, came back and rezzed us. The templar was at 90% health.
After getting rezzed, the templar came back and killed me again, just to be a little bitch. Needless to say, I was most annoyed.
/g I'm through screwing around. We need more firepower. Calling the big guns.
Two minutes later, my fine guildmates were on the way to assist. Pheuneral logged Ross to give us more firepower. Tydd came with his uber shield guard, Reinn for the uber bow damage, and Darith for bladeturn and ubernukes.
It was almost silly how fast he went down once we'd assembled the right team. I know you guys seemed disappointed by the lack of challenge; but I assure you, we couldn't have done it without assistance from each of you.
Afterwards, the task complete, you all dispersed to resume whatever tasks you had dropped to assist us. I was talking to Kis and Sirious on the way to Camelot. They told me how impressed they were that Vengeance was able to respond so quickly with major firepower to assist a guildmate in need. I think very few guilds out there are able to depend on their members so reliably. In any event, it made a lasting impression that they'll doubtless keep and pass on to others. A little Vengeance public service, if you will.
So one more time, thanks for your help. This is what being guildmates is all about. Group hug!
