Roger Wilco would be nice for raid and scout coordination. What do you guys think?
I know a lot of people do use it ingame. Kirin and Pesadilla use that or something similar, I think. In terms of how I feel about it... I think it's fine.
I'm willing to give it a shot and see how it works out.
Of course this means we'll be hearing a lot of angry wives in the background. Hope that doesn't distract anyone. ("Who the hell are you talking to in there? Quiet down!")
Kirin and Pesa use an application called Gamevoice. It is a Microsoft product. You can look at http://www.gamevoice.com/gamevoice.asp for more information about it.
I also have this just have not hooked it up for awhile.

I've got the GameVoice too, but I don't have it hooked up (mainly because it only seems to pass thru two speakers, and I've got surround sound hooked up). I'd be happy using a utility like this or Roger Wilco, whichever the group prefers.
Guys, The game voice thing is really worth using.. im not sure if would help raid cordination more than just making normal exp or Rvr sessions alot more fun.. it can get confusing when too many ppl are on it talking at once.. We should definately try it out.
I'm going to try to get it working for guild RvR tonight.
Dammit! lets stop talking bout doing this and do it! (just not for Guild Rvr night hehe.. i dont want to have Axe ywlling at me via voice when i somehow manage to get everyone killed by Druim ligen)
Do ya'll have a GV server? If so can you post the IP in the private forum? Perhaps the first person to start a chat session can post the IP in the private forum?
Also what is your MSN account name if you use that? Mine is illbyte@hotmail.com
HOsting a server isint a problem, its just a matter of 1 click.. Tydd, you know the drill, but for the others:
Everyone who is interested in doing voice chat plz post your Email addy used for MSN msger.. everyone must add eachother for the chat to work.
So far we have:
Tydd: illbyte@hotmail.com
Kirin: Omegaflare_@hotmail.com
Pesa: kun0@hotmail.com
No No you silly goose. I'm going to assume you don't have this since you didn't know what I was talking about.
Microsoft also has a GV server that you can setup. This is a chat room that isn't hosted per say just up and running all the time. That's what I was tlking about.
Ahhh.. Ok you assume correctly, i havent heard of that. well lets look into this.. hosting a chat server would porbably be alot easier if we plan to have more than a few ppl chatting
That's a great idea. Kirin, please take the lead on this and research what Tydd's discussing. I'd really like to yell at you for f'ing up in RvR :) (j/k)
I guess I'm a little confused. Is this just a software package that you buy and you have to have your own hardware (headphones/mic) or can you buy the full package with everything you need?
This may be a little beyond me; I may just stick to typing! =)
This http://www.gamevoice.com/Download/gamevoiceshare.asp?Page=148 is the free client I think. Nice thing about Roger Wilco is that there is a linux server, but I'll look into setting up a GV server this weekend.
Ok, here goes. I set up the GV server software, 216.200.67.179:3333, session vengeance. I'll test the client when I get home, but if anyone is able to check it out, let me know if it works. No password currently.
i downloaded the porgram but never opened it... i'll have to give it a shot
