No time to give the full writeup now. But for the folks that missed it:
In an early morning Saturday relic raid, we managed to finally hold it together. Blocking actions at both frontier gates and enough people to kill all the guards, five army groups... it was a beautiful thing.
I had the honor of leading the relic force after Aramann took our relic home. Then I carried the spear and Kronick the hammer. On our way out the mid army got us both mezzed... Gueuze's speed of sound fired and we lit out of there like cannonballs! Kronick was right behind me in another group with Speed of Sound.
I'll do a full writeup next week in the forums.
Awesome work! You guys should be proud of your accomplishments today.
Hey, Gueuze, looks like that ability has more uses than just escaping from Cailleach guards, eh? I swear, that guy was yelling "Two Dollars!" while he chased us...
(my apologies to anyone who doesn't get the movie reference there)
GREAT JOB GUYS!
wish i coulda been there to help.
you guys rock!
WOOOOO!! Congrats to all!! im very proud of you, well done leading the raids axe, nice to know Vengeance is still bubblin!
i look forward to commin back soon ^^
Most definitely congratulations all around!! This has been a long time coming, but is now for real. The only down side is now the relics have to be protected. Good chance to build up some RPs defending the relic keep...
That 20% melee bonus definitely seems to make a difference. I'm not convinced it's as much as 20%, but I do seem to be hitting a little harder.
Pygs, cal guards, trolls...quite the handy skill. 10 pts, but definitely worth it.
Of course, I can't believe I wasted it on a silly relic carry. It would have been useful when I bumped into the four Hibs by Beno a few minutes later. :)
Man, if a guard was chasing after you for two dollars, you'd have been
Better Off Dead.Seriously though, good job guys. Taking relics is tough. New to this server, but I've been a scout on a few raids... Taking keeps is hard enough, taking relic keeps is near impossible sometimes.
I'm looking forward to the day I can come out and play with the big guys. ;)
Hey great job knights. Great to have the relics back with vital contributions from Vengeance heros. Wtg, I am very proud of you and only regret that I wasn't there.
WTG All!! (Although I am sure Gueuze must have felt like a guy alone in the forest with a bunch of demonic bikes after him <Two Dollars Indeed> :)) Anyway, good job to all those involved. Ahh...to be 40+ :) Do the 30's ever end??
Yeah the 30's do end eventually then the 40's begin. Well the raid was advertised to be 45+ but I saw a lot of yellow cons to my lvl 42 cleric during that raid and I have seen a lot more than we had attempt a relic raid and fail. Not sure if it was less lag that factored into the success or the lack of defense at the relic keep during the initial taking of the doors but it was definatly worth setting my alarm for 4:30am to be involved. I had to wake doec up and get him going so he could help also but he wanted me to. I grabbed one of my rams and between doec and myself carried it to one of the keeps and used it on second door. We took all but 1 of their keeps before hitting the relic keep and it seemed to me it all went off like clockwork. Although I got killed when we left with the last 2 relics but I kept a couple of them busy while Gueuze and Axe made their escape. For some reason they focus on the clerics but thats ok as long as the relics got back to excaliber I dont really care.
Yes, they were all yelling "Two dollars!" Then, when I got back to Sauvage, all Axe had for me to eat were 'French' dressing and 'French' fries. But at least I got to score with a Saracen exchange student.
On a more serious note...it was obvious that Axe and Doec were the ones who knew what was coming, once it fired, the three of us were GONE. Thanks to all who sacrificed themselves for us. Don't feel too bad, I got sacrificed shortly thereafter.
We went THAT way...REAL FAST. When a tree got in our way, we TURNED.
